Potential Hazards

  • Contamination of the accommodation by guests who are asymptomatic or who develop symptoms whilst in situ.

  • Transmission of the virus between guests or between guests and contactors/suppliers.

Who is at Risk?

  • Other guests on site in communal hallways or with subsequent bookings, particularly the elderly or those with underlying health conditions.

  • Cleaning and maintenance Contractors and their immediate families, particularly those who care for relatives who are elderly or have underlying health conditions.

  • The wider public locally.

Actions to Control Risk

Anybody who is exhibiting symptoms or who has any reason to believe they may have come into contact with the virus up to 14 days prior to their booking must follow the Government instruction to self-isolate, and follow NHS guidelines. Therefore not arrive at the accommodation.

Guests that are already staying the accommodation that show any symptoms must notify 5leys staff immediately and vacate the accommodation to self-isolate at home.

Anybody in one of the vulnerable groups identified by the government should follow government advice, they can contact 5leys Holiday Accommodation for help and advice with their booking. 

Contractors who are exhibiting symptoms or who have reason to believe they may have come into contact with the virus within the previous 14 days should not come into the properties and should follow NHS guidelines.

We will ask all guests to follow guidelines on social distancing. 5leys Holiday Accommodation is the managing agent for 62 properties, ranging from apartments to houses. It is relatively easy for guests to avoid contact with each other.

Guests should arrange for groceries to be delivered to their accommodation to avoid trips to the supermarket if possible


Guests are advised that there may be severely restricted opportunities to eat out at this time and booking reservations in advance is required at local eateries, guests should also prepare to self-cater.

Contract Cleaners

We always strive to maintain extremely high standards of cleanliness in all our properties at 5leys, our contract cleaners that we use are implementing extra hygiene procedures during changeovers. 

To protect our Cleaning Contractors we will:

  • Ask guests to strip their own beds and put used linen in bags provided. (No longer deemed necessary from 12/02/2022)

  • Ask guests to empty all bins and place tied bags in external waste bins.

  • Dispose immediately of any lost property left by guests. 

This policy will be reviewed monthly until the threat of Covid-19 threat has passed.


How will covid effect my booking?
If your area goes into lockdown or you have a positive test result we will defer your dates in the same property for up to 12 months.
If we go into lockdown and cannot provide your holiday accommodation we will refund in full. 
Please note this does not include the ban on other households mixing if announced by the government as accommodation can still be provided.
